A sure shot to treat dengue fever is Papaya leaves juice. Papaya juice or pulp made from this papaya plant has been found to be quite effective not only in fighting the symptoms of dengue fever but also in curing it. Just crush the leaves and twice a day take two tablespoons of juice.


Pomegranate Juice:

Pomegranate juice produces lymphocytes to strengthen the immune system by providing essential nutrients and minerals to the body. Being a rich source of iron, pomegranate stands out to be quite beneficial for the blood, further contributing in increasing the number of platelets in the body. Take this juice twice or thrice in a day.

Carrot, Cucumber and Lemon juice:

To boost the immune system and also to fight with the after effects of the disease the juice of these three veggies helps.

Neem leaves juice:

The juice increases the white blood cells and blood platelet count, drink aloe vera juice twice a day.

Guava juice:

Guava juice is rich in Vitamin A and Vitamin C, the juice when mixed with little honey shows good results. For fast recovery, drink it at least once in a day.

Basil leaves:

Basil is a holy plant which is worshipped in our country for its numerous medicinal benefits. On the dengue patient, chewing basil leaves or drinking their tea has a significant healing effect.

Barley grass juice:

Barley grass juice is a great way of detoxing the body of all chemicals from having consumed the medicines. Drink barley grass juice, and it will help to fight the side effects of the disease too.

Gooseberry juice:

Gooseberry juice is a rich source of Vitamin C. Consuming gooseberry juice every day boosts immunity.

General tips to prevent dengue & chikungunya:

  1. Keep your surroundings clean.
  2. Use mosquito repellent or apply mosquito repellent ointment or gel on your body.
  3. Cover your hands and legs well, if staying in a mosquito-infested area.
  4. Close all the doors and windows in the evening.
  5. Do not leave behind water in open containers.
  6. Do not let water settle in open places.
  7. Keep neighbouring water bodies clean and maintained.
